Health Programs in Manolo Fortich
Committee Chairperson on Health, Sanitation, and Nutrition Coun, Joy L. Cordovez, who is among the attendees of the blessing ceremony expressed during the program that the new health care facility will focus on accessible and quality services, “Gihingusgan gyud na nga mapaduol sa mga katawhan sa Alae ug kasilinganan na mga barangay ang mga health services, maduol, ug maka access kita, ug makatagamtam kita og kalidad nga serbisyo.”
Health has been one of the utmost priorities in Manolo Fortich as it ranks second in the 10 Point Agenda. This focuses on various health issues within the community such as malnutrition, stunting, and most especially the availability of health centers among barangays with far flung sitios. The establishment of the new RHU Annex at Barangay Alae will aim to bridge such gaps faced by residents in need.
Shedding light to citizens’ concerns
Prior to the blessing ceremony of the new health center, medical personnel of the RHU Annex have been operating since August 6, 2025 at the Barangay Health Office as its temporary facility. Rural Health Physician Dr. Louella T. Gamboa serves as its attending physician along with 4 nurses, 1 Information Technology staff, 1 administrative aide, 1 pharmacist for its pharmacy, or namely, Botika ng Bayan.
Among those who availed its health services such as medical consultation with prescribed medicines is habal-habal driver residing in Zone 4, Barangay Alae, Bade Ocampo, who shared that the new health center made it easier for residents like him instead of travelling a far stretch of 20-minute ride to the main RHU at Calanawan, Tankulan and the Super Health Center at Sitio Pol-oton, Tankulan.
“Okay gyud kaayo sa akoa nga naa natay RHU diri sa duol, sa Alae, kay dili nata kinahanglan muadto pa sa sentro sa Manolo para maka pa checkup ug magkalisod pa og biyahe. Salamat kaayo sa tanan ug sa kay Mayor Quiño sa pagpangusog ani,” shares Ocampo in an interview.
Services offered at RHU Annex
Aside from the free medical consultation, the RHU Annex will also offer the following services:
Future programs for health
The RHU Annex at Barangay Alae is the first, but not the last as Mayor Quiño shares his vision in strengthening the availability of health centers across various barangays in Manolo Fortich during his message at the blessing ceremony.
“Ang atong pangandoy gyud sa atong community health programs nga madugangan nato og mga health centers pa ang mga kabaranggayan, ang Dalirig, Maluko, ug Guilang-guilang para mo cater didto sa ila kay luoy atong mga pasyente, arun dili na sila mulahos sa sentro (Tankulan),” he says, while also noting that his administration will further develop more programs benefiting Manolo Fortich, “Dili ta moundang mag huna-huna ug magmugna og mga programa para sa kaayuhan sa katawhan sa Manolo Fortich.”
