Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño and MCDO Abigail Palma Recognized by CDA Region X
Commitment to Cooperative Growth
Under the 4th priority from the 10-Point Agenda of Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño—Employment Opportunities thru Livelihood, Commerce and Trade—is the establishment of a Cooperative Office to ensure continuous growth and sustainability of cooperatives in the municipality of Manolo Fortich. Recently, Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño was among the Local Chief Executives in the region honored with the Special Kaabag Award presented by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region 10 on October 30, 2025, in Cagayan de Oro City.
Recognition for Cooperative Support and Partnership
The Kaabag Awards were presented to local chief executives and offices in recognition of their vital role in supporting all the cooperatives in their municipality or city. The recognition was given during the Culmination Night of the National Cooperative Month 2025 at the CDA Region X Extension Office. The award illustrates the outstanding support and partnership of Mayor Quiño in promoting cooperative development in the municipality.
Municipal Cooperative Development Officer Abigail Palma was also recognized at the event with the “Outstanding Support to Cooperative Development” award for her hard work in empowering and bolstering local cooperatives.
Acknowledging Collective Efforts
MCD Officer Palma acknowledged all the collaborative efforts that laid the foundation of support for the development of all the cooperatives in the municipality. “Dako kaayo akong pasalamat sa suporta na gihatag sa cooperative sector ni Mayor Quiño, SB members headed by Municipal Vice Mayor Reynaldo ‘Bojun’ Bagayas, Jr., SB Chair[person] on Cooperatives Hon. Christy Leparto-Salabe, members of local finance, members of Manolo Fortich Municipal Cooperative Development Council, and MCDO staff. Kani nga recognition nga nadawat gikan sa CDA Region X Office nagdasig kanamo nga maningkamot sa among pagpanarbaho ug makahatag og quality nga serbisyo sa mga cooperative sector nato sa lungsod sa Manolo Fortich.”
Reflecting a Milestone in Cooperative Development
This is the second recognition and award received by the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich through its Local Chief Executive and Cooperative Development Officer during the first year since the creation of the Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO). These recognitions reflect the local government’s commitment to fostering inclusive economic progress through strong cooperative development.
