MANOLO FORTICH, Bukidnon — Eighty-four trainees completed the JobStart Philippines Full-Cycle and Soft/Core Skills Training Program during a graduation ceremony held at Pearl Olive Eden Garden and Events in Sitio Pol-oton, Barangay Tankulan, on Friday, November 21, 2025.
The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), through the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich, enrolled 34 Full-Cycle trainees and 50 Soft/Core Skills trainees in July 2025.
JobStart Training Program Components
Full-Cycle trainees completed a ten-day core skills training before moving on to two months of technical instruction. They then undertook two-month internships with partner employers such as Dahilayan Alpine Village, Jinky's Catering and Event Services, and SLERS Industries Incorporated.
Soft/Core Skills trainees, meanwhile, finished over 30 modules covering job readiness, workplace competencies, professional attitude, and personal development. Organizers also recognized top-performing graduates with special awards.
‘Self-confidence is very important’
DOLE Bukidnon Provincial Field Office Head Raul L. Valmores urged graduates to cultivate the right work attitude during his inspirational message, “You develop your attitude, nga ma-welcome ka sa imong employers. Imong character, dili mana mapalit. Dili man sad na mabayran. You have to earn that. Self-confidence is very important,” Valmores said.
Graduate expresses gratitude
Queennie Dela Cruz Auguis, 24, of Barangay Dahilayan, one of the Full-Cycle participants, expressed her gratitude during her testimonial. "I want to thank JobStart Philippines for giving me and my fellow graduates this experience in gaining our skills through this program. I do hope that more programs like this will be created soon," said Auguis, who completed her two-month technical training and internship at Dahilayan Forest Park.
Ways forward for employment
As part of JobStart and PESO’s continuing efforts to expand employment opportunities, PESO Manager Lorraine A. Requinton announced that a job fair would be opened immediately after the ceremony, along with additional job placements available to the graduates.
Furthermore, Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño announced the release of the updated 8-Point Agenda, emphasizing that education remains a top priority as he commits to providing accessible scholarships and opportunities for the youth of Manolo Fortich. Through strong collaboration with DOLE, JobStart will continue as an annual program.
