4-DAY CRASH COURSES ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP LAUNCHED ON 2ND MUNICIPAL LIVELIHOOD SUMMIT

2nd Municipal Livelihood Summit

2ND MUNICIPAL LIVELIHOOD SUMMIT‒On its aim to further enhance the knowledge of entrepreneurs in Manolo Fortich, a 4-day worth of Crash Courses was launched by the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich along with the Local Economic Development and Investment Promotion Office (LEDIPO) on November 21, 2023 at the Municipal Gymnasium Conference Room, Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich.

4 different topics are set to be expected out of the training comprising lectures and workshops. On the first day of the Crash Course, the topic on Digital Marketing for Hospitality and Coffee Shop Businesses was tackled with participants who are local coffee shop and air bnb owners from the different barangays of Manolo Fortich. This was discussed by resource speaker, Joshua Dominique C. Augustin of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC).

Aside from digital marketing for coffee and hospitality businesses, other topics offered by the Crash Courses are: (1) Economic Dynamism for Farmers on November 22, (2) Product Development for Start-up Business on November 23, and (3) Consumer Rights and Owner’s Liabilities for Food Establishments on the last day of November 24, 2023. Each Crash Course has its different set of participants, as well as resource speakers and trainers from partner institutions who are set to share their expertise on the certain field.

Rebecca Raakin Galubo, 74 years old from Barangay San Miguel plants corn and rice in their vast farm field at Barangay Dicklum. She is among the participants of the Crash Courses on the second day. By being able to attend the Crash Course on Economic Dynamism for Farmers on November 22, 2023, she extends her warmest gratitude towards the LGU’s initiative in fostering the mastery and expertise of its local farmers.

“Nalipay kaayo mi na ang LGU nato, with the participation of DA (Department of Agriculture), DTI (Department of Trade and Industry), ug daghan pa toh, kay at least the government, gitagaan jud nila og importansya ang mga farmers. Wala mi nila gipasagdan and gihatagan mi nila’g opportunity molambo,” Galupo stated.

During an interview, LEDIPO Designate Lorraine A. Requinton discusses the benefits that the participants can attain from each Crash Courses, “Numero uno nga benepisyo nga ilang makuha is information, kay key jud na sa pag asenso. Daghan mga negosyo diri na gipadagan sa experience and ni asenso gyud pud sila. Pero, kung butangan og academe nga approach nga makatuon sila sa insaktong pamaagi, mas mulambo jud sila sa ilang entrepreneurship.”

At the same time, Requinton also explained how significant it is to support the local businesses of the community where they are given a better opportunity to develop and expand. For it is one of the goals of Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, through this year’s Livelihood Summit, to boost the economic activity of Manolo Fortich through its local entrepreneurs and products.
