₱13 MILLION WORTH OF AGRI-PRODUCTS TURNED OVER TO 30 FARMERS' ASSOCIATIONS

Agricultural Support Services to Farmers

THURSDAY — The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 10 (DA RFO 10), in coordination with the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich, facilitated the turnover ceremony of agricultural interventions to 30 farmers' associations on June 26, 2025, at the New Municipal Agriculture Office, Zone 3, Barangay Dicklum, Manolo Fortich.

These agricultural interventions, amounting to ₱13 million, consisted of 1,181 bags of hybrid corn seeds and organic fertilizers, farm tools such as pole pruners, corn shellers, mini chainsaws, and moisture meters, and one unit hauling truck. All of these came from DA RFO 10’s banner programs: the Corn Program, the High Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP), and the National Urban and Peri-Urban Agriculture Program (NUPAP).

Regional Director of DA RFO 10, Carlota S. Madriaga, explained that this initiative was made possible through the collaboration between DA RFO 10 and LGU Manolo Fortich, “Dili pud namo mahibal-an kung unsa pud inyong mga panginahanglanon sa inyong local o lungsod kung dili pud ninyo ipaabot kini na mga concerns sa among opisina. Kami nagpadayon gyud og suporta sa atong mga mag-uuma.”

The distribution aimed to increase farmers’ productivity, reduce production costs, and support their efforts through modernized mechanization using the provided tools and equipment. This intervention also aligns with one of Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño’s priority agenda items—Agricultural Support Services to Farmers—which seeks to promote sustainable agriculture in Manolo Fortich.

In line with this, Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño extended his gratitude to DA RFO 10 for being a major partner institution in realizing this vision, “Mapasalamaton ta kay gitagaan ta og kaayohan sa Department of Agriculture sa region pinaagi aning mga gamit pang agrikultura na ang farmers nato matabangan. Busa dili ta moundang mangita og mga pamaagi sa atong administrasyon kung unsay ikatabang nato sa mga farmers.”

Among the beneficiaries of the turnover was the BLISS Lingion Multipurpose Cooperative, which received one unit hauling truck amounting to ₱2.6 million. Cooperative President Dante M. Dosayco shared in an interview how the truck will support their farming operations, “Dako ni siya’g tabang para sa among corn operations ug sa cassava pud dayun usa ni siya ka sako og kalabotan alang sa progreso sa kooperatiba ug sa mga miyembro.”

Present during the turnover ceremony were Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño, Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr., Committee Chairperson on Farmers Coun. Elzevir A. Dagunlay, Committee Chairperson on Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Coun. Raquel Abales, and other Sangguniang Bayan Members—Coun. Rina E. Quiño, Coun. Joy L. Cordovez, and SK Federation President Princess CJ Padin.
