Barangay Dalirig conducted its first distribution of school supplies through the launch of the Assistance Initiative for Community Learners Education Program (AICLEP) for the school year 2025–2026. Headed by Barangay Captain El Meleza C. Leparto and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Chairman Ralph Elvin M. Bocon, the distribution team visited Dalirig Elementary School, Dalirig Daycare Center, Sitio Diamante Child Development Center (CDC), Sitio Sabangan Elementary School, and Sitio Abyawan Elementary School last July 14–15, 2025.
In her message, Barangay Captain Leparto emphasized that the initiative was made possible through barangay funds. She encouraged students to be responsible with their supplies, “Usa kini ka pundo sa barangay ug sa atong SK nga unta inyo gyud ning ampingan kay kini sila funded by the people of Barangay Dalirig. Dinhi nagsugod ang inyong responsibilidad sa pag take care aning mga bag.”
The distributed supplies included school bags, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and notepads. These were received by 1,300 students from Daycare, Kindergarten, and Grades 1 to 6. AICLEP is an official ordinance sponsored by the SK, under the leadership of Chairman Ralph Elvin M. Bocon, which prioritizes educational assistance across Dalirig. The program also aligns with Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño’s “Education for All,” the first item on his 10-Point Agenda.
Sangguniang Bayan Member and new Committee Chairperson on Education, Councilor Christy Leparto Salabe, graced the first day of distribution. In her message, she expressed the barangay’s commitment to supporting the future of Dalirig’s youth, “Kaning mga supplies nagsimbolo nga ingana mag suporta ang atong barangay council para sa inyo mga bata, sa inyong mga damgo, ambisyon, ug sa kalampuson sa pag skwela.”
Beyond being a support program for learners, AICLEP also aims to assist parents and guardians by reducing their financial burden at the start of the school year.
Merelyn G. Balaod, a mother of two students studying at Sitio Diamante CDC, shared that AICLEP significantly eased her family’s education-related expenses, “Nalipay kaayo ko kay duha akong mga anak unya karon nakasakmit mi ani nga tabang sa barangay kay nakatabangan jud mi tungod nabawasan among gasto sa financial ug maluag-an among budget.”
As an official ordinance, AICLEP stands as a successful program that upholds the goals of supporting the youth, promoting education, and alleviating financial challenges for families in the community.
