MGMFRFEA meeting with Mayor includes Health and Wellness of the LGU employees
Mayor Rogelio R. Quiño with the MGMFRFEA discusses issues and concerns of the local government employees.
The officers of the Municipal Government of Manolo Fortich Rank and File Employees Association (MGMFRFEA) paid visit to the office of Mayor Rogelio R. Quiño in order to talk about the primary on July 27, 2022. One of the issues tackled by the MGMFRFEA President Concepcion C. Gumaling is the Health Care program for the employees.
According to Gumaling, there was an existing Executive Checkup for the employees before but was stopped due to the pandemic. The officers of the union aim to ask the Mayor to reinstate the said checkups in order to give more importance to the health and wellness of the employees. However, the group also intends to ask for the Mayor’s approval to render budget for the next year’s allocation to avail Health Care Insurance so that the employees can benefit laboratory checkups and other hospitalization benefits aside from the Annual Physical Exam (APE).
The Mayor approved the said concern and he asked the group to look for Health Care Provider that could provide decent benefits for the employees. The Mayor clarified that if ever a funding will be available, the LGU will only pay half of the membership fee and the other half will be catered personally by the employee. The group will also closely look on ways so that the employees will be saved of the burden regarding the payments.
During the meeting, it was also tackled to designate Liaison Officer in the LGU who would help the employees expedite the process of their documents most especially those national agencies of the government such as the GSIS, PAG-IBIG, and Philhealth.
Mayor Quiño asked the Human Resource and Management Office to take a close care of this concern. He even advised to transfer the PAG-IBIG account of the LGU from Cagayan de Oro branch to Malaybalay branch in order to process documents faster. They also talked about the retirement benefit or the so called “Pabaon” for the MGMFRFEA members, Civil Service Month program for the month of September as well as the management operation in the municipal canteen.
Overall, Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño is very thankful for the active and consistent initiatives of the association for the welfare of the government employees so that they could give quality service to the people. In the year 2007, the Municipal Government of Manolo Fortich Rank File Employees Association was registered as legitimate labor organization of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Civil Service Commission (CSC) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
