BPLO SHOWS EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE THROUGH ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT DURING BI-MONTHLY CONVOCATION

Public Service for the people of Manolo Fortich!

The Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) stands as one of the frontliners in providing public services at the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich. Business Permits, Licensing, and Inspections of Business Establishments are among the in-demand services of the office. Moreover, the bi-monthly convocation on Monday, February 19, 2024, caps off with BPLO’s accomplishment report presentation from 2023 up to this date.

The recently concluded annual Business One-Stop-Shop (BOSS) last January 2024 was among the major services provided by BPLO. It seeks to issue business permits to business establishments in Manolo Fortich whether new or renewal. This year’s total turnout of issued business permits is over 4,540 with 469 new business permits and 4,071 renewals. Overall, the percentage of renewal is 78.21%. Motorcycle transportation is excluded from the total tally with over 378 renewals.

Additionally, BPLO presented the total percentage of registered businesses by category as of 2024. Retailers were the prime clients for business permits as they took the lead with a percentage of 56.41%. It is followed by Contractors and other independent contractors with a 19.82% turnout. Food establishments in Manolo Fortich are also one of the pillars in business and entrepreneurship as 7.95% belong to Cafes, Cafeterias, Refreshment Parlors, Restaurants, Soda Fountain Bars, Carenderias, or Food Caterers.

Manufacturers, Assemblers, Repackers, and Processors account for 7.31% of the total, while Wholesalers, Distributors, or Dealers comprise 5.31%. Banks and other financial institutions represent 2.05%, and lastly, 1.15% are from Amusement business establishments.

Apart from the large-scale increase of business establishments in Manolo Fortich this year, BPLO proudly presented the Electronic Business One-Stop-Shop (eBOSS). An online and electronic application that primarily aided during BOSS 2024. Through eBOSS, issuance of electronic tax bills, permits, and submissions of applications by clients are made accessible. In its latest update of usage, over 1,466 have used it for online registration, 53 business permits were released, and 6 transactions of online payments. The online application was made possible through the partnership with the Municipal Information System Office (MISO).

BPLO Licensing Officer Mae Paurillo led the presentation of the accomplishment report along with the personnel of the office. In response, Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño gave his commendation as the presentation concluded, “Congratulations kaayo sa BPLO for a job well done specially sa atong recently concluded nga BOSS.”

The February bi-monthly convocation was also attended by the members of the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr. and the heads of offices led by Municipal Administrator Engr. Joie Caesar M. Gaid.
