LYDO AND MPDO SPEARHEAD FORMULATION OF CBYDP AND ABYIP WITH THE SK COUNCIL

CBYDP and ABYIP Formulation

February 17-19, 2024 - The Local Youth and Development Office (LYDO), together with the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), facilitated the formulation of the Comprehensive Barangay Youth Development Plan (CBYDP) for CY 2024-2026 and the Annual Barangay Youth Investment Program (ABYIP) for CY 2024.

The purpose of the three-day event was to capacitate the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) council to devise long-term, sustainable programs that would benefit young people in all aspects. Held at Potter’s Garden, Bagalangit, Kalugmanan, Manolo Fortich, 220 SK council members from 22 barangays, with 10 SK council members per barangay, from the SK Chairperson down to the SK Secretary and Treasurer, actively participated in the discussions and brainstorming sessions. With the assistance of LYDO and MPDO, the SK council gained the knowledge and skills required to effectively put together the CBYDP and ABYIP. They were guided through the process of identifying priority areas, setting goals, and developing strategies to meet the needs and aspirations of the youth in their respective barangays.

Pinaagi sa among guidance, mas atong matutukan ang mga SK sa paghatag og batakang serbisyo sa atong mga kabataan." said LYDO Officer Alejandro Arenal. "Thank you Mayor Rogelio Quiño for supporting this capacity building for our SK council," Arenal added. He observed that the SK council members from each barangay presented very promising plans and programs, which he hopes will be implemented in their respective barangays this year. Also in attendance was SK Federation President Coun. Lennox J Tabacco, leading the council to a productive, efficient, and goal-driven Sangguniang Kabataan.
