HRMO MANOLO FORTICH BEGINS FIRST MONTHLY WORKSHOP FOR FLOURISHING ACTIVITY FACILITATORS

Flourishing the employees of LGU Manolo Fortich

“The happier the employee, the better the quality of their work.” is Municipal Consultant Dr. Dixon Yasay’s best advice as he concludes the first Strategic Management Workshop of the year for the Flourishing Activity Facilitators of the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich in partnership with the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) on February 12, 2024, at Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm, Barangay Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich.

The Flourishing Activity’s purpose is to foster positive individual work performance and work relationships in the workplace through recreational activities that are office friendly. Through the Strategic Management Workshop, participating personnel, who will also now serve as facilitators of their respective offices, had the opportunity to enhance their initial knowledge. They were able to experience the Flourishing Activity firsthand and be grounded with its activity design so that they may be able to integrate it to their workplace as well.

During the workshop, various activities were conducted by resource speaker Dr. Yasay. Participants were able to explore the deeper definition of a Flourishing Activity by understanding the essence and principles of adult learning, as well as polishing their mission, goal, commitment, and strengths which are the crucial factors that facilitators of flourishing exercises must come to further comprehend.

Furthermore, Dr. Yasay explains the significance of pursuing such activity as it gives utmost benefit not only to the employees, but to the overall performance of the organization, “We must find time to conduct sharpening and flourishing exercises sa atong office. Lahi-lahi ang atong context ug ang atong situation as individuals. That is why it should be our mission to find time to do the sharpening so that despite these differences and gaps, we can use it as an advantage to be better employees ourselves."

Overall, around 30 personnel from the LGU of Manolo Fortich were able to participate in the activity. Each personnel came from the different offices and departments, in which all of them were referred to by Dr. Yasay as “Champions of change.”

Municipal Assessor’s Office (MASSO) Assessment Clerk Miguel Taneo who is a participant and now a facilitator of MASSO’s Flourishing Activities shares his experience of the workshop, “Experiencing the techniques or shall we say methods firsthand on the strategic management workshop is way better than the concepts and theories I get from plainly reading it on any resource material. The workshop has provided us multiple opportunities where I can personally incorporate the methods I learned in a session.”

The workshop is only the first of the numerous workshops to be further conducted by Dr. Yasay and the HRMO this year. It will now become a monthly workshop as part of the facilitator’ training so that they can acquire more strategies in facilitating flourishing exercises that can help alleviate work performance of the employees of the LGU of Manolo Fortich.
