BFP ADVOCATES FOR FIRE PREVENTION MONTH THROUGH DRAWING AND POSTER MAKING CONTEST

Fire Prevention Awareness Month

TUESDAY—The Manolo Fortich Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) awarded students from participating elementary and high schools in Manolo Fortich who received awards in their annual Drawing and Poster Making Contest concluded at Dream Residences Conference Room, Barangay San Miguel, Manolo Fortich on March 18, 2024.

As this month advocates for Fire Prevention Awareness, the BFP National Headquarters leads the movement with the theme, “Sa pag-iwas sa sunog, hindi ka nag-iisa.” Thus, the BFP Manolo Fortich arranged various activities such as the Drawing and Poster Making Contest aimed at educating and raising an understanding of the importance of preventing fire incidents among the students, or the youth themselves.

“Annually, ga organize gyud ang Manolo Fortich Fire Station og drawing and poster making contest. Gi sugdan ni for their awareness nga samtang bata pa sila, makabalo na bitaw sila sa about fire ug ang dangers na iyang gidala. So, this is in line sa atong Fire Prevention Month,” says Manolo Fortich Municipal Fire Marshal SFO2 Rafael I Corona Jr on the essence of involving the students with such a contest in the municipality.

The participating schools for the Drawing Contest consisted of the Elementary Schools of Manolo Fortich Central Elementary School, Life House Montessori Academy, Alae Central Elementary School, Del Monte School, Manolo Fortich Christian Academy, San Miguel Elementary School, Dicklum Elementary School, San Isidro Integrated School and Sabangan Elementary School.

Meanwhile, five high schools in Manolo Fortich participated in the Poster Making Contest, namely Manolo Fortich National High School, Life House Montessori, Maluko National High School and Alae National High School.

Below are the results for both categories:

Drawing Contest:
1st Place - Dante L. Obalabao, Manolo Fortich Central Elementary School
2nd Place - Nash Kurt T. Lachica, Alae Central Elementary School
3rd Place - Zachary Zuriel D. Santos, Del Monte School

Poster Making Contest:
1st Place - Shekinah Denisse A. Baquero, Manolo Fortich National High School
2nd Place - Emmanuel V. Tocmohan, Maluko National High School
3rd Place - Rainer S. Ellevera, Alae National High School

BFP Manolo Fortich also conducted its Open House activity that welcomed schools to explore the Manolo Fortich Fire Station at Barangay Tankulan. Incoming activities such as the Oplan Ligtas na Pamayanan and Barangay Fire Olympics are yet to be announced. All of which are in accordance with Fire Prevention for safety and security.
