LGU MANOLO FORTICH HOSTS 7TH LMP MEETING AT DAHILAYAN IP ECO PARK

League of Municipalities of the Philippines - Bukidnon Chapter

Mayors from municipalities and cities across the Province of Bukidnon gathered for the 7th League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Bukidnon Chapter Monthly Meeting. Hosted by the LGU Manolo Fortich and led by Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, the meeting focused on innovations in Solid Waste Management at the IP Eco Park and Resort, Barangay Dahilayan on July 31, 2024.

In his welcoming remarks, Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño emphasized that the meeting serves as a platform for thoughtful discussion to craft solutions to existing problems within Bukidnon. “Dinhi anaa ang usa ka mahinungdanong katuyuan nga mao ang pagpagawas, pagpadayag ug pagtin-aw sa mga issues nga adunay kalambigitan ug nakaapektar sa pangagamhanang lokal sa matag lungsod nga nagkinahanglan og legal nga mga pamaagi ug makamugna og solusyon sa matag sitwasyon.”

Among the many issues discussed, part 1 of the LMP Bukidnon Chapter monthly meeting focused on exploring innovative solutions for Solid Waste Management in the province through a partnership with Corinthian Energy Resources. Invited guest speaker, Corinthian Energy Business Development Manager Gideon Namocatcat, presented the Comminution Assisted Renewable Energy (CARE) Technology, which can convert garbage disposed of in sanitary landfills into an alternative energy source.

“With our cooperation, gihangyo nako ang mga halangdon na mga mayor sa probinsya sa Bukidnon nga mag-uban ta kay among ipasalig ang among commitment towards sustainable development sa probinsya sa Bukidnon,” said Namocatcat, urging mayors to commit to the long-term project.

LMP Bukidnon Chapter President and Lantapan Municipal Mayor Ernie R. Devibar shared his vision for the province, emphasizing transformation for the benefit of both constituents and natural resources. “Together, we can transform Bukidnon where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive, our natural resources are preserved and cherished, our communities are safe, vibrant, and resilient, and where love and joy never die. The road ahead may be challenging but is filled with endless possibilities.”

Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Assistant Regional Director and guest speaker Nonito H. Dela Cruz also shared his message during part 2 of the program, which was the meeting proper of the mayors.

Also present during the LMP Bukidnon Chapter Monthly Meeting were Bukidnon Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño, Manolo Fortich Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr., and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
