OVER 39 HOUSEHOLDS BENEFIT FROM BUSECO’S ELECTRIFICATION PROGRAM IN MANOLO FORTICH

BUSECO's Sitio Electrification Program

MANOLO FORTICH – Bukidnon Second Electric Cooperative Inc. (BUSECO) has kicked off its Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) in Manolo Fortich for 2025 with a Ceremonial Energization held on February 4 at Upper Purok 1 and 2, Barangay Mampayag, and on February 5 at Lower Purok 2, Barangay Lindaban. The initiative aims to promote the program and provide electricity to remote puroks or sitios of barangays.

Supporting the initiative, Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr. emphasized the role of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich in SEP, “Among gi-wave ang mga balayrunon sa pag-apply o sa pagpaconnect sa kuryente. Tungod kay parte man ang LGU sa Sitio Electrification Program, gilibre namo na ug wala namo na gisingil para matagaan og kuryente ang atong mga purok.”

Additionally, the LGU has facilitated the clearance of permits and other requirements necessary for establishing electricity in the selected puroks, further easing the burden on residents. A total of 39 households have benefited from the SEP—24 households in Upper Purok 1 and 2, Barangay Mampayag, and 15 households in Lower Purok 2, Barangay Lindaban.

For residents like 48-year-old Emme Lugmay Ribao from Barangay Lindaban, having electricity for the first time has significantly improved their daily lives, “Pasalamat gyud mi kay dili nami maglisod nga muadto lang gyud sa sentro para maka gamit og kuryente, kay lisod gyud kaayo walay kuryente sa panahon karon. Karon pud nga nataoran na gyud mi, nakasugod nako’g palit og refrigerator kay kinahanglan najud na nako sa balay.”

Vice Mayor Bagayas Jr. also highlighted the LGU’s commitment to seeking opportunities to assist its constituents, while reminding consumers of their responsibility, “Ang atong lungsod sa Manolo Fortich, pinangulohan ni Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, naningkamot gyud og ayo sa unsa may pwede nato ikatabang sa mga katawhan. Kamo usab nga konsyumante, part gyud na sa atong responsibilidad nga dili nato usikan og gamiton nato sa insakto, unya ang atong responsibilidad ato gyud pagaatimanon.”

In total, BUSECO allocated over PHP 3 million for the SEP at Upper Purok 1 and 2, Barangay Mampayag, and PHP 2.4 million for Lower Purok 2, Barangay Lindaban. The program will continue with three more sitios or puroks in Manolo Fortich scheduled for Ceremonial Energization this year, with the next event happening on February 25, 2025, at Purok 12A Lower, Barangay Damilag.
