This year’s Kaamulan Agri-Fair showcases the vibrant and unique identities of the various participating municipalities and cities of Bukidnon. The Agri-booths opened to the public on March 21, coinciding with the official opening of the annual Kaamulan Festival. Among this year’s contingents is Manolo Fortich, featuring a rich display of its local delicacies, as well as food and non-food products.
The fresh display of vegetables is a striking feature of Manolo Fortich’s Agri-Booth. According to Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) Farm Superintendent Liza L. Abarido, the vegetables were harvested by the municipality’s local farmers, “Gi-showcase nato ang products ni Manolo Fortich. Isa jud ani ang fresh na mga vegetables na gikan jud sa atong farmers, ug gipalit na nato sa ila para nga ato pud e display and ibaligya dinhi with a very minimal addition.”
Aside from vegetables, local products from Aval’s Apiary Products and Services, Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm, Queen Daisy Tablea, Belen’s Spicy Sinamak, Aglay Binugas, and others were also on display. Additionally, products from the graduates of the 6th Batch of MAO’s Farm Business School were featured. The Kaamulan Agri-Fair will run from March 21 to April 23, 2025, with three judging dates: March 21, March 28, and April 11, 2025.
Meanwhile, the month-long 51st Kaamulan Festival has begun attracting tourists following its opening on March 21. This year’s theme, “Embracing Tradition: Innovating Culture for a Sustainable Future,” highlights the rich heritage of the seven indigenous tribes of Bukidnon: the Higaonon, Talaandig, Manobo, Matigsalug, Tigwahanon, Umayamnon, and Bukidnon.
Bukidnon Provincial Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque emphasized the importance of honoring traditions during the Kaamulan Festival opening at the Provincial Grounds in Malaybalay City, “Let us embrace and honor these traditions while looking toward a future where culture and progress walk hand in hand. Today is not just a celebration; it is a reminder that our heritage must be preserved, not just by the tribes themselves, but by all of us who share this land.”
The Kaamulan Festival offers various events and activities that celebrate traditions while serving as an educational experience for tourists. Events such as Kag Alu–Alu (Ethnic Sports), the Culture and Arts Exhibit, Garden Show, Kabataan Jam Reggae Night, Kaamulan Photography Contest, Kaamulan Slam, Kaamulan Rodeo, Tabuk 4 Adventour: Kultura ta Bukidnon, Laga daw Malaki ta Bukidnon, and the Ethno-Cultural Music Fest are expected to entertain and engage visitors.
