The groundbreaking ceremony of the 1 unit school building composed of four classrooms held at Damilag Integrated School for the Special Education (SPED) Class was realized on March 10, 2023, in the afternoon.
According to the Municipal Administrator Engr. Joie Caesar M. Gaid, the said project amounts to 4.4 Milyones Pesos, where ten percent of it will come from the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich. The rest will be shouldered by the Join Together Society (JTS ) Foundation of the Philippines. Manolo Fortich Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño extended his heartfelt thanks to the foundation through Engr. Gaid for the support that they have given to the community.
JTS Philippines Representative Wonjoo Lee shared during the event that the foundation formerly financed their first project in the municipality at Bagalangit Elementary School in Barangay Kalugmanan, which is also composed of a 1 unit school building with four classrooms. Representative Lee also expressed his gratitude towards Mayor Quiño and Bukidnon Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño for the cooperation, help, and support of the JTS Foundation. He hopes that through this SPED Class school building at Damilag Integrated School, many Special Children will experience quality education and learning.
Bukidnon DepEd Assistant School Division Superintendent Audie S. Borres shared how the project addresses the school's problem regarding classroom scarcity. She also thanked JTS Philippines and LGU- Manolo Fortich for the project.
Bukidnon Division Coordinator for the Social Mobilization Rollen Sumohoy, Damilag Integrated School Principal Ma. Salome Neri, District 2 Supervisor Niel Improgo, Damilag Barangay Captain Allan Torres Jr, MPDO OIC Cherry Fe Amor Q. Magallones, selected LGU employees, and teachers were also present during the groundbreaking ceremony.
