Tebow Cure Children’s Hospital in the Philippines is an extension of an international non-profit organization, Cure, which have hospital branches overseas. Tebow Cure Children’s Hospital is located in Davao City and is the only facility here in the country but are catering to patients nationwide. They are tapping now to Local Government Units in the hopes of helping more children with physical disabilities get the medical services they need for free.
Present in the orientation are the representatives in each of the 22 barangays of Manolo Fortich who are either the Barangay Health Workers (BHW), Kagawad on Health or the Barangay Captains, the Person’s with Disability Federation President and PDAO-OIC of LGU Manolo Fortich. Doctors from the municipalities of Sumilao, Baungon, and Libona and representatives from the Provincial Health Office and Department of Health are also present in the activity. These participants will serve as ambassadors to the organization to reach out to constituents having the conditions the hospital can treat.
Avril Melissa C. Bughaw, Health Education and Promotion Officer II explained why the orientation is conducted in the municipality. “Manolo Fortich is the center of the northern part of the province. The convenience and accessibility of the area is taken into consideration and also the willingness and capacity of the municipality to shoulder the accommodation.”
Moreover, Fernandez expressed his awe on the quality and quantity of participants that they have experienced in Manolo Fortich. “In all our community orientation, this is the first time only in Bukidnon na nangyari po na ang mga guest po natin or ang mga participants po ng community orientation is marami po kaming nakitang doctors, nurses, barangay chairman and other part po na nasa top department po ng LGU.” He also added a message to those who will avail the services. “Hangyo namin sa tanan mga constituents of Bukidnon, once po na mabigyan po ng schedule, mabigyan po ng screening, hangyo lang po namin talaga na tapusin po ‘yong kanilang treatment kasi wala naman po silang poproblemahin in terms of expenses, payments. Shoulder na po lahat yan ng Tebow Cure Children’s Hospital.”
