Manolo Fortich continues to commend and recognize excellence in education among young Manoleños as it conducts the second awarding ceremony for new graduates with Latin Honors, Master’s Degree graduates, and Topnotchers of board exams of the academic year 2023 during the Flag Raising Ceremony at Manolo Fortich Municipal Hall Grounds, Barangay Tankulan on September 4, 2023.
This initiative is made possible by the Resolution No. 2023-397 that was sponsored and initiated by Sangguniang Bayan Member, Coun. Rina E. Quiño states, “A Resolution expressing profound commendation and recognition to graduates of Summa Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, and Cum Laude.” Thus, this awarding and recognition is now set to take place yearly for the Latin Honor graduates residing in Manolo Fortich.
Framed certificates were granted to the awardees. Along with these are cash incentives for the Latin Honor awardees. P10-thousand for Summa Cum Laude, P8-thousand for Magna Cum Laude, and P5-thousand for Cum Laude. This was made possible by the support of Vice Governor Clive D. Quiño and Senator Miguel Zubiri as an initiative in assisting the fresh graduates for their future endeavors, especially when venturing out to a new career.
36 awardees were able to participate in the awarding ceremony and received their certificates. Among them are 25 Latin Honors such as 22 Cum Laudes, 1 Magna Cum Laude, and 2 Summa Cum Laude. 7 Graduates of master’s degree were also given recognition and certification, as well as 4 Topnotchers of Board Exams.
Among the awardees is Ms. Zirah Abella, 23 years old from Barangay Damilag. She graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and a Latin Honor awardee of Cum Laude from Siliman University, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
For her, the commendation and recognition are a notable initiative, “Amazing kaayo siya kay na recognize gyud sa municipality ang among efforts. Ang ilang incentives na gi give kay makahelp gyud especially for those courses like mine nga naay board exams. So, maka help gyud siya initially sa pag prepare sa among board exams, pag buy og materials, ug pagpatahi og bag-o na mga uniforms for review and apil napud pag trabaho soon.” Abella stated.
It is also by the initiative and the efforts of Sangguniang Bayan Member, Coun. Raquel A. Bayacag in submitting a resolution that commends and recognizes the graduates of Master’s Degree.
The awarding body was composed of Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr. and members of the Sangguniang Bayan.
