Honoring Agency Awards and Achievements

Various partner agencies of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich showcased their remarkable achievements during the bi-monthly Convocation Program held at the Municipal Lobby in the New Government Center on October 9, 2023.

The participating agencies included the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Police Major Harvey Sanchez was the first to present, sharing key milestones of the PNP Manolo Fortich. He discussed the local crime situation, crime and vehicular incidents, police responses, checkpoint operations, and blotter book records. Notably, the report highlighted a total crime volume of 78 cases in Manolo Fortich from January to October of the current year. Thanks to the support of the LGU, PNP Manolo Fortich was recognized as the Best Municipal Police Station in Region 10 for the year.

Senior Fire Officer 2 Rafael Corona reported on the significant progress made by the BFP, including improvements to the station and fire trucks to enhance emergency response capabilities. He also provided updates on the Fire Sub-Station in Barangay Damilag. “Ang Barangay Damilag Fire Sub-Station Phase 3, kadtong nag-report ko sa imo Mayor, so ang gihulatan na lang nato ani dire is ang Fire Truck na lang nga Morita. Then we’re good to go na dayon para ma-install na nato ang first sub-station sa Manolo Fortich.” he said.

Jail Chief Inspector Arnel Nacasabog shared details on the management of People Deprived of Liberties (PDLs), highlighting programs and projects aimed at inmate reformation, such as livelihood and education initiatives. He also discussed efforts to secure job opportunities for PDLs upon their reintegration into the community as part of the aftercare program. “We don’t just care for them inside the facility, we also care for them after to integrate them back into the communit. I already made letters sa mga companies dire, hopefully nga I can recommend them (ex-offender) nga makatrabaho in coordination with the religious sector.”

As a result of their outstanding initiatives, BJMP Manolo Fortich received the Best District Jail award for the 2nd Quarter of 2023, with Chief Inspector Nacasabog honored as the Best District Jail Warden of the Year. Five officers from the agency also received individual awards: SJO1 Darius Jan P. Ruiz for Best Intelligence Officer, JO2 Jesbert B. Ausejo for Best PDL Records Officer, JO1 Ranier M. Montealto for Best Escorting Officer, JO1 Ricafort C. Torayno Jr. for Best Jail Nurse, and JO1 Aiko Mhe S. Ladaran for Best Human Rights Action Officer.

Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Cherry Lou Lafuente concluded the presentations with impressive statistics. These included a rating of 101.38 for the Conduct of Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) Audit for FY 2022 and a 92 percent rating for the Conduct of Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) for 2022. The agency also proudly announced the declaration of two new Drug-Cleared Barangays: Barangay Alae and Dicklum, bringing the total number of drug-cleared barangays to 19 out of 22. “Naa na lang tay tulo nabilin. Medyo struggle pero the key is to work hard. So hopefully by the year ends, mahurot na namo ning 22 ka barangays ug ka drug-cleared.”

The heads of the various agencies left Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño impressed with their outstanding accomplishments. “Again, congratulations sa performance sa atong mga agencies. Ang atong vision nga ‘puy-an sa mga tao nga malipayon, mahigugmaon sa kahusay ug kalinaw ug reponsableng katawhan’ hapit na nato ma-achieve. Kay ngano man? Sa report, out of 157,00 sa population, 3,480 lang ang crime incidents, meaning less than 3 percent. Pero dapat mamahimo na nang 0 crime. But kini maayo na kaayo nga achievemen. Maayo kayo og perfomance tanan. Dili na nato maikalimod gayud nga Manolo Fortich is one of the best among the 22 municipalities in the province of Bukidnon.”
