KALIPI Manolo Fortich receives promising feedback in
Best LGU-Bukidnon KALIPI Bahay-Kubo Evaluation
KALIPI or the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina Organization of Manolo Fortich sowed not only a literal good harvest for the Best LGU-Bukidnon KALIPI Bahay-Kubo Evaluation but also harvested good feedbacks in the evaluation conducted by the Local Government of the Province of Bukidnon on October 11, 2023.
The evaluation team composed of personnel from Provincial Agriculture Office and the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office visited the various households of KALIPI members in Barangays Minsuro, Lingion and Mambatangan to check the existence of the adoption of the Bahay-Kubo, which essentially is LGU Bukidnon’s by name for backyard farming. Thus, they validated the presence of the vegetable, herb or fruit garden of the members of the KALIPI.
The Bukidnon KALIPI Bahay-Kubo project is a venue made to help marginalized women to cultivate and produce organic food for food sustainability as well as a potential income-generating activity.
“So far sa among nakita ug so far pod sa among observation compared sa uban pod nga among naadtuan, maka-compete jud ang Manolo Fortich.” Teresita Nuñez of PAGRO Bukidnon expressed during the feedbacking session.
“Tsada jud kaayo nga ma-present ug ingon ani noh? How much more if tanan munisipyo naay ingon ani. Ma-encourage pod ta ba kay mga active jud sila. Mamahimo jud nga simbolo mo sa mga kababaihan dinhi sa lungsod sa Manolo.” Queennie Alberto of PSWD Bukidnon expressed in an interview.
Provincial KALIPI Federation President Evelyn Nolan who accompanied the evaluators also shared her experience and gratitude to the KALIPI members.
“Na-overwhelm jud ko nga 2020 pa nagsugod na jud mo og lihok. Nagpasalamat sad ko nga ang panaghiusa anaa jud kaninyo. Salamat sa mainiton nga pagdawat sa amo taliwala nga mudaog namo.”
The KALIPI Organization of Manolo Fortich is headed by Loida Leotero, BNB Operator and KALIPI head of Barangay Mambatangan and is under the supervision of Carmen Villarino who serves as KALIPI Municipal Coordinator. The KAPILI Organization of Manolo Fortich manages and tends their garden located beside BNB office and houses different varieties of vegetable and herbs. They sell their produce at affordable prices as well as livelihood products such as Ginger Oil, Macapa Ointment and tasty Cassava and Banana Chips.
