2nd Livelihood Summit Herbal Medicines Making creates

opportunities to Women’s Organizations

50 women were gathered at the Bamboo Shoots Processing Area, Tankulan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon to attend the 2nd Livelihood Summit Herbal Medicines Making held on November 24, 2023.

Headed by the Botika ng Barangay Coordinator Carmen Villarino, the group of women learned about herbal medicine and its uses as prescribed and acknowledged by the Department of Health. An on-the-spot demo on ginger oil with panyawan making was introduced to the women. Currently, the BNB operators in the respective barangays are producing ginger oil with panyawan for their Herbal Medicine Production Project which they want to share to other fellow women.

2 batches of training were conducted on that day. There were 27 participants in the morning and 23 participants in the afternoon. Both batches produced the ginger oil with panyawan extract. Janeth Ollero, Women’s Federation President from Barangay Agusan Canyon shared her reasons for joining the said training. “As a Federation President sa women’s sa Barangay Agusan Canyon, isa jud ko sa nagtubag nga muapil ko aning herbal making. Para sa akoa need jud mi makabalo nga naa ni siya nga training kay dako jud siya og tabang sa among sa among women’s organization sa Agusan Canyon.”

According to Ollero, she will coordinate with their organization to re-echo the said training. “Dako kaayo kog pasalamat nga naa ni siya nga initiative kay naa na sad mi bag-o nakat-onan sa mga kababaehan. So dako siya og tabang kay puhon og amo na ni siyang mahimo, maka-income na mi.”  

The Committee on Women, Children and Childcare Chairperson Councilor Joy L. Cordovez was also in the said training to boost the morale of the participants.
