Bangus Deboning and Tilanggit Making paves way to Livelihood Opportunities to Manoleños

2nd Municipal Livelihood Summit

25 participants took time to study and learn the art and science of Bangus Deboning and Tilanggit Making as a means of potential livelihood outlet on November 24, 2023 at the ABC Hall, Barangay Tankulan.

The training was facilitated by the Municipal Agriculture Office with Municipal Agriculture Technician Maria Josefa Alidon as the resource speaker. The participants were provided with the tools and ingredients to do the actual demonstration of both Bangus Deboning and Tilanggit Making.

Grace Hazeil Trinidad, a housewife from Barangay Lindaban was one of the participants of the training. She expressed her intentions of making money out of the learning she got from the training. “Ang plan ko po is magta-try po ako ng daing na bangus kaya lang wala pa po akong gamit. I joined the training dahil kahit papaano magka-extra income.” The participants were also thought how to use the vacuum sealer for packaging tilanggit.

Councilor Raquel Abales-Bayacag was present during the training and extended her thoughts on congratulating the Municipal Agriculture Office in their achievement in garnering awards for the cooperatives and the associations in the municipalities. She encourage groups to create or establish their their cooperative or association. “Sa 1,489 ka munisipalidad sa Pilipinas, ang  munisipyo sa Manolo Fortich nakadaog, champion.” She also added the benefits of creating or joining local cooperatives and associations. “Mao jud na ang challenge sa atoa karon kay daghan kaayo gaagi nga grasya sa atong mga association ug sa mga kooperatiba.”

On the other hand, Municipal Agriculturist Gemma G. Cania encouraged the participants to develop local products and start their own business. “Dili kailangan og mahal, dili kailangan og hundred thousand, dili kailangan og tag two hundred thousand nga capital. Pila raman? One thousand pesos, five hundred pesos? To start with your negosyo. Ana rajud na sa sugod. I just hope nga if magtuyok ko sa merkado sa Manolo Fortich puhon ug sa uban pang merkado nga naa na juy deboned bangus kay number 1 najud ko mupalit.” She also invited the participants to join other training from the MAO such as the Farm Business School or FBS where they can learn how to create their own business plan.
