LGU MANOLO FORTICH PREPARES FOR KAAMULAN, 107TH CHARTER DAY, AND BANOG-BANOG FESTIVAL

Activities in Manolo Fortich to be excited for!

In a collaborative effort to strengthen sustainable tourism in Manolo Fortich, the Municipal Tourism Council and the Manolo Fortich Federation of Tourism Champs convened for their 1st quarter meeting. The purpose of the gathering was to discuss upcoming tourism plans, with a focus on key activities such as the municipality's participation in the annual Kaamulan Festival, 107th Charter Day Celebration, and the 5th Banog-Banog Festival.

The meeting, led by the Municipal Tourism Office under the direction of Tourism Officer Jixon Cloyd Abanes, took place on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Tulugan Hall in Barangay Tankulan. The agenda included discussions and presentations on critical points such as the Tourism Development Plan, the Calendar of Activities for 2024, the potential Tourism Map, and the reorganization of the Tourism Council and Tourism Champs.

In addition to the outlined agenda, attention was given to the expected output of the Barangay Tourism Plan from each barangay. This plan aims to identify strategies and techniques that each tourism champ can develop for their designated barangay, aligning with the tourist areas within their respective barangays.

Sangguniang Bayan Member and Committee Chairperson on Tourism, Coun. Rina E. Quiño, underscored the relevance of the Barangay Tourism Plans. She emphasized that the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich is highly supportive and open to providing assistance in implementing these plans, “Kami sa LGU, mag agad gyud mi permi sa mga barangay kung unsa pud ang inyong plano sa tourism. Dapat each baranagay naa gyud barangay tourism plan para ma consolidate, and ma harmonize nato kung unsa jud ang direction ang gusto ninyo para sa inyong barangay.”

During the concluding segment of the meeting, the Manolo Fortich Federation of Tourism Champs held elections for their officers. Hon. El Meleza Leparto, the Tourism Champ for Dalirig, was elected as president, and Hon. Daniel Onahon Jr., the Tourism Champ for Tankulan, was elected as vice president.

Additionally, Coun. Quiño conveyed her appreciation to both the council and the federation of tourism champs for their dedicated efforts and active involvement in enhancing the sustainability of the municipality's tourism, “Nalipay ko nga namugna ni ang Tourism Council para makatabang pud sa atong mga strategies kung unsa ang plano nato sa lungsod in terms of turismo. Involved gyud ana ang mga barangay especially naa jud pud atong mga LGU offices nga members. Open tanan para sa tourism council kung unsa inyong mga plano, pangutana, suhestiyon para ma tabangan gyud nato.”

In the first quarter of this year, there are presently no major tourism activities scheduled to commence. However, preparations for the Kaamulan Festival, 107th Charter Day Celebration, and the 5th Banog-Banog Festival are set to begin.
