PESO WELCOMES NEW BATCH OF GRADUATING STUDENTS UNDER THE LOCAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Enhancing the students' academic experience

The Manolo Fortich Public Employment and Service Office (PESO) supports the enhancement of students' academic experience in Manolo Fortich by hosting the Local Internship Program (LIP) Orientation for graduating students undergoing On-The-Job Training (OJT). The LIP Orientation took place at the Norminco Compound, Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich on February 22, 2024.

The LIP Committee of Manolo Fortich, led by Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, developed the program to engage applicants or beneficiaries in public service by involving them in various government programs and projects. This is facilitated through numerous partner agencies who assist in accommodating applicants for their OJT experience.

According to PESO, 90 graduating students have signed up as LIP applicants, with 60 present during the orientation, predominantly from Northern Bukidnon State College. Joanne B. Abella of PESO served as the orientation's resource speaker.

Moreover, PESO Manager Roger O. Molina delivered welcoming remarks, emphasizing how the OJT experience prepares students: "Inyo dapat ihatag ang inyong pinaka the best nga fight ani. Last na ni ninyo nga moment sa inyong pagka estudyante. OJT is the last step nga mo agto naka sa big step which is mahimo nakang empleyado. Kung asa mo mag OJT, ihatag ang inyong pinaka the best kay ang mga tao nga naa sa inyong palibot, nag observe na sila inyo."

LIP applicants will work for 20 days in their assigned agency or office, receiving a daily rate of 250 PHP, totaling 5,000 PHP over the period.

One of the applicants, Justine Pacaldo Alipala, 24, from Northern Bukidnon State College, studying Education, shared his excitement and nervousness about being assigned to a school in Manolo Fortich for his service. He said, "Excited ko, yet at the same time, nervous ko kay lagi actual na nga mga students. Ang environment pud nako kay akong mga kauban professionals napud na mga teachers. But, I look forward to my own personal growth. Gusto ko na ang akong ma attain na goal is magamit nako in the near future pag ma professional nako sa work."

The next step for applicants is job interviews with PESO, with the examination waived by Molina to provide complete opportunities for graduating students. With 90 applicants so far, PESO is still accepting applicants, with over 35 slots available. Qualifications include residency in Manolo Fortich, indigent status, and graduation from any course. PESO, in coordination with the LGU of Manolo Fortich, continues to invite potential applicants.
