USAID DONATES MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO RURAL HEALTH UNIT OF MANOLO FORTICH

Fostering a progressive and accessible healthcare

MONDAY—The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) extends its support to the vision of the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich, which is to foster a progressive and accessible healthcare to the community as it turns over new medical supplies to the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich on March 4, 2024.

“Kining tanan na atong nadawat (medical suplies) is from USAID nato nga grant. Naa silay gihatag nga medical supplies sa atong mga beneficiaries which is ang barangays of Manolo Fortich. Kining mga Medical Supplies is para ra gyud ni ma apod-apod sa atong mga Barangay like atong mga Barangay Health Centers,” says Coun. Rina E. Quiño, who played the role in coordinating with USAID in making the donations possible.

The medical supplies donated consisted of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), surgical gloves, masks, plasters, disposable face shields, syringes, gauze pads, external analgesic, pain relievers, freezer pops, and the like. According to Coun. Quiño, each of these are to be distributed to all the 22 Barangay Health Centers of Manolo Fortich through their designated barangay midwives who also came during the turnover activity.

Shela Marfa, RM, of Barangay Mambatangan is among the midwives who received her barangay’s share of the donated medical supplies from USAID. In an interview, she imparts her appreciation, “Dako kaayo ang akong pasalamat nga naka receive mi sa mga medical supplies na gipanghatag. Magamit jud kaayo ni sila specially sa mga hygiene kits ug face masks. Dako ni og tabang sa among Barangay Health Center specially sa mga katawhan nga among gi serbisyohan sa tagsa tagsa namo nga barangay.”

Present during the turn over is Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño who inspected the medical supplies that were delivered as a package to the RHU. Along with him is also Sangguniang Bayan Member and Committee Chairperson on Health, Nutrition, and Sanitation Coun. Joy L. Cordovez and the rest of the RHU personnel headed by Dr. Joanne Marie V. Dueñas.
