RQPS: Nutrition on Wheels

April 5, 2024 — Amidst the scorching heat, the LGU employees and officials of Manolo Fortich extended their hands once again to provide free services for the residents of Barangay St. Niño during the Real Quality Public Service Program.

The event commenced with a zumba dance, engaging the residents, setting the tone for a day of community support and collaboration.

Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño expressed his gratitude to the dedicated volunteers, marking the 17th year of continuous community outreach. "Ika-17 na ka tuig og 24 rounds sa atoang paglibot libot sa kabaranggayan sa atong lungsod.", Mayor Quiño stated. "Sa mga kaigsoonan ko sa Barangay St. Niño, akoang gihangyo kaninyo nga pahimusli ninyo ang atoang serbisyo angay man lang nga makatabang tag jutay sa inyong mga gipanginahanglan."

Among the array of services provided were medical check-ups, haircuts, mobile laboratory tests, blood testing, and more.

A notable addition to this round of RQPS was the introduction of the Mobile Kitchen, catering to the culinary needs of all residents. The mobile kitchen is fully equipped with electricity, gas, cooking facilities, and water, ensuring hygienic food preparation.

"Karon nga rounds sa RQPS, bag-o lang nag-start atong pagdala sa mobile kitchen, dugang sa serbisyo nga gipahimo nato nga kadtong champorado giapil nato ang tinolang manok." Shared Municipal Nutrition Office staff Kith Joseph Cabrera. "Amoang first choice jud unta is all vegetables pero nag dugang mig manok para makumpleto na tanan no.. So if gulay naa tay fiber, and if naa tay manok naa tay protein, then of course naa pud tay fat noh. Sa kana tanan let's say murag complete meal na siya and at the same time maigo nato ang go, grow and glow." He added.

The meals were prepared with care and dedication by volunteers Marylou Binayao and Jeronimo Quinlog. They ensured that the residents enjoyed delicious and healthy food throughout the day. Additionally, the barangay received support from the Provincial Vice Governor in the form of two water dispensers and one hundred monoblock chairs.

The RQPS continues to be a pillar of community support, fostering unity and providing essential services to residents in need.
