INCLUSIVE INITIATIVES: MANOLO FORTICH PDAO FACILITATES BDAI 2ND QUARTER MEETING

Bukidnon Disabled Association Incorporation

The Bukidnon Disabled Association Incorporation conducted their 2nd quarter meeting at Dahilayan IP Park and Resort, Barangay Dahilayan, Manolo Fortich, on June 21, 2024. Hosted by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Manolo Fortich, headed by PDAO OIC Renante Moradas, the meeting went on smoothly.

Present were the Bukidnon PDAO, Federation Presidents, and other BDAI members from the municipalities/cities of Bukidnon. Representatives and personnel from Baungon, Cabanglasan, Damulog, Dangcagan, Don Carlos, Impasug-ong, Kalilangan, Kibawe, Kitaotao, Lantapan, Libona, Malitbog, Pangantucan, Quezon, San Fernando, Sumilao, Talakag, Maramag, Manolo Fortich, Malaybalay, and Valencia City attended the quarterly meeting.

The meeting was presided over by BDAI President Samson Cañete, together with Disability Affairs Assistant Milikan Andam. “Ang Manolo Fortich ug ang dapit sa IP Park and Resort, malipayon kaayo ta nga niining adlawa, wala gyud ta inita. Nindot ang atong pamati ug bugnaw ang palibot sa atong venue,” Cañete stated as the members enjoyed the cool climate of Barangay Dahilayan. Andam also added, “Nagtapok ta diri to gather our ideas and to correct our lapses. Bag-o man ang atong president ug every tapok nato naay mga bag-o, naay mawala, so naa gyapon ta sa trial and error stage.”

The members discussed the activities and preparations needed for the upcoming 2nd Provincial Paragame that will be held in July this year. The paragames will include the shot put, javelin throw, chess, table tennis, wheelchair race, sitting volleyball, and wheelchair basketball. They also tackled the finalization of the Search for Miss Inclusion 2024, which will also commence in July.

Among the important notes was the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration update, where one of the discussed subjects was the change of the organization’s name from Bukidnon Disabled Association Incorporation to Bukidnon Differently Abled Association Incorporation.

Ug usa pod sa akong gipasalamatan og dako nga si Municipal Mayor Rogelio Quiño nga nisuporta diin natagaan gyud og pagtagad ang mga programa ug aktibidad sa PDAO na-aprobahan gyud siya,” PDAO OIC Moradas stated.

The Local Government of Manolo Fortich continues to improve the accessibility of services for all and strives to project inclusivity by means of constant support and development for programs and activities dedicated especially to Differently Abled People (DAP).
