LGU MANOLO FORTICH ADVANCES ICT DEVELOPMENT THROUGH 2-DAY ISSP WORKSHOP

Manolo Fortich for technology advancement

The Management Information Systems Office (MISO), together with the Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO), led the formulation of the Integrated Systems Strategic Plan (ISSP) of the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich as it kicked off its 2-day ISSP Workshop from July 22 to 23, 2024, at the Bahay Tulogan Hall, Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich.

Participants in the workshop included department and division heads, accompanied by the office Information Technology (IT) Focal Persons. They were divided into different sectors: General Services, Economic, and Social Services. Offices under the General Services Sector attended the workshop on July 22, while offices under the Economic and Social Services Sector attended on July 23.

In a brief explanation, Municipal Administrator and General Services Sector Head Engr. Joie Caesar M. Gaid stressed the importance of ISSP formulation: “The integrated system is basically how we collect, manage, and utilize all our data. We need to have a plan nga dili lang technical working group sa IT ang mag-facilitate sa integration sa planning, but for all departments to understand unsa gyud ang integration. There may be short term, midterm, and long-term goals, but the bottom line is we are going to formulate our own ISSP.”

Department heads and IT Focal Persons worked hand in hand to fill out worksheets where Information, Communication, and Technological (ICT) needs and initial solutions for their individual offices were indicated. This data will provide a necessary basis for formulating a general Information System for the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich, expected to be developed over five years from 2025 to 2030.

Resource speaker, MSU-Iligan Institute of Technology Professor and Academic Visitor of the NUS ASEAN Fellows Programme Dr. Adrian P. Galido, explained vital procedures to the group for crafting a large-scale database that can enhance the efficiency of the LGU in its public services. Municipal Planning and Development Office (MPDO) OIC Cherry Fe Amor Q. Magallones presented the outline of the ISSP Formulation, while MISO Department Head Junel Jig G. Jimenez presented the rationale of the project.

Moreover, Sangguniang Bayan Member and Committee Chairperson on Public Utilities (Transportation, Communication, Water, and Power) urged the participants to recognize the workshop's importance for improving LGU services: “Unta kitang tanan mahimong produktibo ani nga seminar aron pud nga magamit nato sa atong mga nagkalain-laing mga departamento aron pud nga mas daghan pajud nga serbisyo ang atong mahimo ug ma improve pud nato atong serbisyo hilabi na gyud sa publiko.”
