Manolo Fortich's Municipal Agriculture Office hosted the monthly meeting of agriculture offices from across Bukidnon. Headed by Municipal Agriculturist Gemma G. Cania, the meeting commenced with a Zumba led by the Barangay Agricultural Technicians Managing Agricultural Networks (BATMAN). This was held on September 26, 2024, at Alomah’s Place and Nature Farm, Barangay Dahilayan.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Agriculturists from the Local Government Units of Baungon, Cabanglasan, Dangcagan, Don Carlos, Impasug-ong, Kadingilan, Kalilangan, Kibawe, Kitaotao, Lantapan, Libona, Malitbog, Pangantucan, Quezon, San Fernando, Sumilao, Malaybalay City, and Valencia City. Also in attendance were personnel from the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO), stakeholders, and the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 10 with Technical Regional Director for Operations Carlota Madriaga.
The attendees were able to tackle points with regards to agricultural operations in Bukidnon. The meeting included updates on reports and unliquidated projects, followed by an open forum. “We’re trying so much nga ma-improve gyud ang atong agrikultura sa Manolo Fortich, as you all know pinakadako namo nga area is pinya just like Libona. Amo gyud sa tanan agriculture, we have 47+ thousand hectares sa among land area and 26+ thousand ana belongs to agriculture,” MA Cania stated.
Sangguniang Bayan Members Coun. Raquel Bayacag Committee Chair on Agriculture and Coun. Elzevir Dagunlay Committee Chair on Farmers were also present in the meeting. Coun. Bayacag said, “Unang-una, akong pagyukbo og pagtahod sa among halangdon nga Mayor nga way undang sa pagpangita og kaayuhan sa among lungsod ug number one gyud ana ang among agriculture.” Coun. Dagunlay added, “Kitang mga agriculturists, atong pangandoy gyud nga muasenso ang atong lugar, atong matabangan ang atong farmers. Busa nagbuhat tag mga programa para gyud ma-assist nato sila tungod kay walay lain gyud nga maka-suporta sa atong ekonomiya labi na sa farmers.”
