TAYO ANG KALIKASAN MOVEMENT MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING SIGNING

LGU Manolo Fortich and DENR partners with various stakeholders for Tayo ang Kalikasan Movement through MOU signing

The Local Government of Manolo Fortich, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Region 10 (represented by the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with private sectors as well as government and non-government agencies to implement the Tayo ang KalikasanMovement, on October 14, 2024, inside the Municipal Lobby, New Government Center, Barangay Tankulan. 

The Tayo ang Kalikasan Movement aims to adopt, develop, manage, and protect portions of easements within the locality. Through the MOU, the partner agencies will be given the responsibility of taking care of the easement assigned to them with a proximate area. These partners include the MF Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), Couples for Christ Sto. Niño chapter, REBISCO, Megan’s Society, JBC Foods, LGU-PESO, and Parole and Probation division. The 9 new partners will join the previous 21 partners, bringing the total to 30 partners. 

Each partner agencies will form a commitment by signing the MOU. These commitments include supporting Programs for Restoration, Rehabilitation, and Development (PRRD), signing the Covenant of Membership and being a part of the Tayo ang Kalikasan as local chapter of the movement, adopting a specific easement, maintaining the cleanliness of said easement, conducting tree planting activities along the adopted areas, conducting monitoring and management of the planted trees, etc.

We would like to balance, kabalo man ta nga robust man ang road widening, dili nato kalikayan maputol ang atong mga kahoy labi na sa daplin sa karsada. So gibawi nato ni siya sa pagpananom og kahoy sa atong mga river easement to balance out the lost carbon sequestration sa atong mga trees nga nangaputol.”, MENR Officer Sharon Tacbobo stated during their tree planting activity in commemoration of “Father Neri Satur Day” on October 15, 2024, following the MOU signing.
