To ensure the quality and compliance of buildings with design and structural standards, members of the Project Monitoring Committee (PMC) conducted an ocular inspection and validation of completed and ongoing projects of the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich on February 12, 2025.
The team first visited the Child Development Center (CDC) at Sitio Bliss, Barangay Lingi-on, and reinspected it after PMC members recommended minor adjustments to the comfort rooms. They then proceeded to the new Multipurpose Building in Barangay Dicklum, which will serve as the new Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO). The building, currently under construction, will be equipped with modern facilities. Their next stop was the CDC in Sitio Cebucawan, Barangay Lunocan, which was recently turned over to the community. Also inspected were the completed and fully operational CDC in Sitio Sta. Cruz, Barangay Alae, the chlorination pond inside the Sanitary Landfill in Barangay Alae, and the ongoing construction of the Procurement Division extension within the New Government Center in Barangay Tankulan.
The team also monitored the ongoing construction of one-unit, three-classroom integrated school buildings in Sitio Awol, Barangay Lunocan, Barangay Mantibugao, Barangay Damilag, and Barangay Kalugmanan. These inspections aimed to ensure that construction personnel adhered to technical designs and specifications as outlined in the contracts and that high-quality materials were used. The team also revisited previously inspected projects to verify that the recommended modifications had been implemented satisfactorily.
The PMC conducts inspections every Thursday to track project progress. Engr. Lexie Michael Lahayon from the Office of the Building Officials (OBO) was among the project inspectors who identified areas requiring adjustments. “Ang purpose nganong ga-conduct ta og inspection is to monitor and validate the on-site progress of ongoing projects and to ensure nga ang project implementation nag-align sa technical plans, specifications, and project descriptions. Most importantly, kani usab usa ka pamaagi sa pag-assess sa quality of the projects. Sa atong nakita, naa pay mga changes and rectifications nga need buhaton arun ma-meet atong expected outcome ani nga mga proyekto,” stated Engr. Lahayon.
