DAHILAYAN — Manolo Fortich once again welcomed tourists as it hosted another round of the Tourism Experience for Barangay Congress participants from the Province of Batangas at Barangay Dahilayan IP Park on March 11 and 13, 2025. The event showcased the diverse products and practices of Manolo Fortich, highlighting the municipality’s rich cultural heritage.
During her welcoming remarks, Committee Chairperson on Tourism Councilor Rina E. Quiño emphasized the cultural display featuring the three indigenous tribes of Manolo Fortich. "Immerse yourselves in the rich culture and vibrant traditions of our three tribes: the Bukidnon, the Higaonon, and the Talaandig. Each tribe brings its own unique heritage, stories, and artistry, which we can't wait for you to experience," said Councilor Quiño.
The Barangay Congress participants, who are members of the Liga ng mga Barangay, witnessed various Cultural and Interactive Stations that highlighted the traditions of the three tribes along with the talents and products of Manolo Fortich. Visitors participated in engaging activities such as the Soil Painting Workshop, Abaca Hat Weaving, and the Bukidnon Loom Beads demonstration. Guests were also treated to a free tasting of traditional Ni-let let nga Manok and fresh pineapple.
Local entrepreneurs were invited to showcase their products, with MSME concessionaires from nearby Bukidnon municipalities adding to the vibrant marketplace. Participating vendors included Everyou Food Products, Lamdag Inc., Richwater Tailoring, Bufwen-Sumilao, Malaybalay's Choice Handicrafts, Baein-Ahyag's Collection, and NML Marketing, all of which offered delightful pasalubong treats that captured visitors' interest. Beyond the cultural displays, interactive stations, and local products, guests also experienced the warmth and hospitality of the Manoleños.
Barangay Captain Roy S. Monje of Barangay 2A Poblacion, Municipality of Mataas na Kahoy, shared his impression, "Ang mga tao ay napaka-welcoming at laging nakasmile sa amin. Sobrang hospitable. Tapos nagustuhan ko talaga ang mga products galing sa mga station na aking binisita at napaka-entertaining ang lahat."
A total of 880 guests from the Province of Batangas participated in the Tourism Experience across the two-day event at Barangay Dahilayan IP Eco Park. As part of their Barangay Congress itinerary, the guests also visited notable tourist spots such as Dahilayan Adventure Park, Dahilayan Forest Park, and Ricardo’s, with Tourist Depot serving as their official tour operator.
Among those present during the Tourism Experience were Councilor Christy "Tata" Leparto, Councilor Raquel Abales, Councilor Elzevir A. Dagunlay, ABC President Mary Jane P. Guilayan, and SK Federation President Princess CJ B. Padin.
