A Pre-Construction Conference was held last January 16, 2023 at the Mayor’s Office Conference Room with the representatives from the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprises Zone Authority (TIEZA), LGU Manolo Fortich and NGP Construction for the realization of the Manolo Fortich Tourist Service Center and Rest Area.
The purpose of the conference is to align and clarify the necessary permits, documents and other requirements for the construction of the facility. The building of an on-site office of the contractor, assignment of construction schedule and materials testing result were also discussed during the conference.
The TIEZA clarified the need for a weekly status report from the contractor, observance of the Government Procurement Act and the restriction of subcontracting.
Present in the Pre-Construction Conference is Engr. Dominador G. Catbagan from the Construction Management Department of TIEZA, Engr. Christian Jasper G. De Peralta the project engineer from TIEZA, NGP Construction General Manager Engr. Noel Puno including Project Supervisor Engr. Jonathan Quijano and the officers from the Local Governement Unit of Manolo Fortich headed by Municipal Administrator Engr. Joie Caesar M. Gaid and Tourism Committee Chairwoman Councilor Rina E. Quiño.
It is hoped that the construction of the 7-million pesos Tourist Service Center and Rest Area should run for 90 calendar days. The ground breaking ceremony of the said Rest Area was held last September 9, 2022. This facility is among the first Tourist Service Center and Rest Area of 10 rest areas located at different areas in the Philippines as part of the projects of the Department of Tourism.
