Bishop Noel P. Pedregosa from the Diocese of Malaybalay with Manolo Fortich Ministerial Association leads the celebration of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity on January 16-21, 2023 that was held at Immaculate Conception Parish Formation Center in Manolo Fortich.
According to Bishop Pedregosa, the purpose of the activity is to deepen Christian unity through simultaneous prayer. Bishop Pedregosa added that the activity is considered a grace most especially that it was held during the monthly meeting of the MFMA which is participated by the priests, nuns, including the leaders from the different churches in the municipality.
Manolo Fortich Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño also graced the said event. According to Mayor Quiño, despite his busy schedule, he strives hard to join the event because he is among the founders of the MFMA through the leadership of Bishop Pedregosa when he still served as the parish priest of Manolo Fortich.
A Bible sharing was done by the group which was participated by CBCP-NNCP representative Ernesto Chio. Mr. Chio handed the Certificate of Recognition to Bishop Noel Pedregosa in recognition of his efforts and contribution to the week-long prayer for Chistian Unity this year anchored with the theme “Buhata ang Maayo, Pangitaa ang Hustisya". The recognition came from the National Council Churches in the Philippines ug Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines.
Accordingly, Manolo Fortich Ministerial Association Coordinator Edith Dolor revealed that this month’s MFMA meeting is special because of the inclusion of the week of prayer. The municipality of Manolo Fortich was chosen as the host of the week of prayer because of the strong connection of the priests, nuns, and church leaders from the churches under the leadership of Bishop Noel P. Pedregosa.
