TULONG ESKWELA PROGRAM UNDER AKAP ACCOMMODATES 800+ BENEFICIARIES IN MANOLO FORTICH

Ayuda para sa Kapos Ang Kita Program

During his 3rd State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22, 2024, President Ferdinand "Bong-bong" Marcos Jr. ordered the implementation of the Tulong Eskwela Program, with House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez as the proponent. On August 30, as part of the program's nationwide launch to help with educational expenses, around 1.32 million Filipino parents of senior high school students received financial aid totaling Php 5.28 billion. The program, managed through the Department of Social Welfare and Development, aims to provide financial assistance to low-income Filipino families.

Under AKAP (Ayuda para sa Kapos Ang Kita Program), the Tulong Eskwela Program accommodated 871 parents of Grade 12 senior high school students from Manolo Fortich. The cash release of Php 3,000 per parent took place on August 30, 2024, following a brief program at the Manolo Fortich National High School gymnasium.

Ruven Cantery, a 32-year-old father of four from Poblacion Tankulan, expressed his gratitude for the cash assistance, noting that it will greatly help him, especially since he is currently unemployed. “Dako nig tabang para sa ako kay makatabang ni siya sa basic needs sa mga studyante, ug labi napud sa ako kay bag-o palang ko nawad-ag trabaho. Dako kaayo nig tabang para sa amoang pamilya ug para sa mga bata gyud labi nas ilang panginahanglan sa school,” stated Ruven.

The 1st District of Bukidnon Congressman, Jose Manuel F. Alba, was present for the payout and advised the parents not to use the funds for any purpose other than benefiting their Grade 12 students. “Adunay daghan gyud galisod nga mga ginikanan hilabina karon nga nag-sugod na og balik ang eskwela. Nakita na sa atong National Government, that’s why naa tay Tulong Eskwela Program. Usa sa pinaka-power nga solution para sa kapobrehon nga matagaan natog edukasyon ang atong anak, o access sa edukasyon,” Cong. Alba stated.

Access to quality education is becoming more widespread as the government seeks to assist the people, particularly the poorest of the poor. Through education, we can ensure that the future of Manolo Fortich will be in the hands of educated and responsible individuals who will continue to pursue progress and development in their community and the country as a whole.
