NGCP GRANTS LIVELIHOOD PACKAGES TO 40 MICRO BUSINESS OWNERS IN MANOLO FORTICH

Christmas is Merry for the Entrepreneurs of Manolo Fortich!

Manolo Fortich is among the 4 grantees of livelihood packages in the Philippines from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) in this season of giving as the turnover ceremony of the packages commenced last Thursday, December 21, 2023 at the Municipal Gymnasium, Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich.  

The 4 grantees included at least one municipality from Caraga Region, Region 9, 10, and 11, with Manolo Fortich as the only beneficiary from Region 10. Specifically, the beneficiaries of the packages were micro business owners of food establishments such as sari-sari store, grocery store, or bigasan store.  

Senior District Manager of the Mindanao Operations of NGCP Voltaire R Ramos, Jr. shares his deepest gratitude to the municipality's unending support to their projects. The very reason for selecting Manolo Fortich as one of their beneficiaries, “We are grateful to Mayor Quiño for his unwavering support not only to this activity, but to the programs of NGCP to the municipality for the past years!”  

In total, there were 40 micro business owners who received the livelihood packages from 11 selected barangays of Manolo Fortich, namely Barangay Alae, Dalirig, Damilag, Lingion, Lunocan, Mambatangan, Minsuro, Mantibugao, Maluko, San Miguel and Sto. Niño. There were 3 types of livelihood packages that corresponded to the type of business each beneficiary owns such as Sari-sari Store, Bigasan, and Carinderia Package.  

As the turnover ceremony was graced by Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño, he instills a gentle reminder to the beneficiaries in sustaining the gifts they have received, “Mao lang ni akong hangyo kaninyo mga igsuon, tinguha gyud nato nga mulambo ug muasenso ang panginabuhi sa atong mga katawhan hilabina sa inyo karon nga naa na gyud puhonan tungod sa mga donasyon gikan sa NGCP.”  

Nelfa Ricardo Tero of Barangay Alae is among the selected beneficiaires. She encourages her fellow business owners to strengthen their businesses altogether in her response speech, “Daghan kaayong salamat sa NGCP, kay Mayor, ug sa DTI! Mayor, karon palang daan maningkamot jud mi nga molambo ang among mga negosyo. Amo jud na i-sulod sa among huna-huna ug kasing-kasing.”  

The Department of Trade and Industry Region 10 (DTI-10) was also among the key partners of NGCP and the Local Government Unit of Manolo Fortich.  

Truly, the livelihood package was an exemplary assistance in boosting the economy of Manolo Fortich by supporting its entrepreneurs.
