The Philippine Statistics Authority announces the opening of nominations for the 35th National Statistics Month (NSM) Awards for activities held last year. The NSM Awards System has been instituted since 2002 as a means of providing recognition to participating agencies/organizations in the observance of the NSM.
The awards are given to acknowledge the outstanding participation of government agencies, regional offices, private sector, youth organizations, and local government units (LGUs) in the 34th NSM celebration and to further encourage them to be more active in their involvement in the observance of future NSM celebrations. For this year, the five categories open for nominations are as follows:
1. Best Statistical Activity Conducted by a Government Organization – All agencies of the government, LGUs, academic institutions, state universities and colleges, government-owned and controlled corporations in the Philippines with statistical activities undertaken in October 2023 are welcome to send entries for this category. Entries should be submitted under the appropriate subcategory, as follows:
a. Best NSM Forum Conducted by a Government Organization
b. Best NSM Contest Conducted by a Government Organization
2. Best Statistical Activity Conducted by a Private Organization - All private firms and non-profit organizations are welcome to send or nominate its own statistical activities undertaken in October 2023. Entries should be submitted under the appropriate subcategory, as follows:
a. Best NSM Forum Conducted by a Private Organization
b. Best NSM Contest Conducted by a Private Organization
3. Best NSM Region - All Regional Statistics Committees (RSCs) which have undertaken statistical activities in October 2023 are invited to send entries for this category.
4. Best Youth Group Advocate for Statistics - All youth organizations in private and public high schools, universities and colleges, LGUs and other sectors of the society, which conducted statistical advocacy activities from January to December 2023, can send entries for this category.
5. Best Local Government Unit Advocate for Statistics - All LGUs, from municipal/city to provincial level, which conducted statistical advocacy activities from January to December 2023, can send entries for this category.
The NSM is conducted annually pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 647, s. 1990 “Declaring the Month of October of Every Year as the National Statistics Month,” to promote, enhance, and instill awareness and appreciation of the importance and value of statistics to the different sectors of society.
Nominations for the awards and supporting documents will be accepted on or before 30 August 2024 by the 35th NSM Secretariat thru:

The winners of the 35th NSM Awards, which will be announced during the 35th NSM Closing Ceremony, will each receive a plaque of recognition.
