OVER 908 SKILLS TRAINING PARTICIPANTS GRADUATES DURING 3RD MUNICIPAL LIVELIHOOD SUMMIT

3rd Municipal Livelihood Summit

The culmination of the 3rd Municipal Livelihood Summit marked a significant milestone for 908 successful trainees, who officially graduated from various skills and livelihood training programs. The graduation ceremony was held on November 21, 2024, at the Municipal Gymnasium in Barangay Tankulan, Manolo Fortich. These trainees underwent comprehensive training sessions beginning in October 2024 under the Manolo Fortich Technical Skills and Development Center (TSDC).

This year’s summit featured 22 diverse skills and livelihood training sessions, with a strong emphasis on NC II certifications, ensuring participants acquire qualifications that enhance employability. Courses such as Organic Agriculture Production NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding NC II, and Community Tour Guiding NC II were conducted by highly skilled trainers hired by the MF TSDC.

As part of his 10-Point Agenda for livelihood and opportunities, Municipal Mayor Rogelio N. Quiño emphasized his administration’s commitment to combating poverty through innovative programs.

This year’s theme, “Pinaagi sa Pursigidong Aksyon, Solusyon sa Kapobrehon, Atong hiusahon,” reflects the vision of the summit: to foster collaboration between the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Manolo Fortich and private agencies. By equipping individuals with the necessary skills, the program seeks to provide pathways for employment and entrepreneurship.

One of the graduates, Robelyn Planas Linansag, a 44-year-old TESDA scholar from Barangay Guilang-guilang, shared her appreciation for the program, "Pasalamat ko ani nga programa kay libre, makatrabaho ko ani, mas mudako ang chance na ma dawat sa trabaho kay puhon after ani, maningkamot na dayun ko na mangapply.”

The guest speaker, Engr. Earl L. Navarro, President of Pyramid Consolidated Builders, Inc., delivered an inspiring message, emphasizing the importance of determination in overcoming poverty, "Dili sa tanan panahon hayahay ang pagkab-ot sa inyong pangandoy. Mu agi gyud sa kalisod, apan hinumdumi na kanang tanan temporaryo lamang. Kaninyong tanan nga naa karon dinhi, determinasyon, taas na pasensya, ka kugi, ug labaw sa tanan, pagsampit sa Ginoo sa kanunay. Mao kini ang sekreto sa kalampusan.”

The event was attended by Vice Mayor Reynaldo L. Bagayas Jr., members of the Sangguniang Bayan, heads of LGU Manolo Fortich offices, partner organizations, and trainers who contributed to the success of the various skills and livelihood training programs.
