Strengthening Fire Safety: Manolo Fortich BFP Leads Fire Prevention Month Awareness Campaign

Fire Prevention Month of March

MARCH— The Manolo Fortich Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is intensifying its Fire Safety Awareness campaign as it celebrates this year’s Fire Prevention Month through various information drives, educational campaigns, and workshops. To mark the kickoff, BFP led its annual motorcade on March 3, 2025, passing through Agusan Canyon, Damilag, Alae, Lunocan, San Miguel, Dicklum, and Tankulan.

Various government offices and private agencies participated in the motorcade, which concluded at the Municipal Gymnasium with a Zumba session for all attendees. Among those present were the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), BUSECO, Anakciano, Inc., Rebisco, Vienovo Philippines, Del Monte, Global Agro Corporation, Prince Hypermart, JBC Corporation, the Manolo Fortich Road Traffic Administration (MFRTA), the Manolo Fortich Water District (MFWD), and the Manolo Fortich Philippine National Police (MF PNP).

Acting Fire Marshal SFO2 Cherlyle T. Lachica, who formally opened the kickoff event, called on all participating organizations to work together for fire safety, “This month serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to prevent fires and protect lives. We will engage in various activities designed to raise awareness, educate, and empower each other to take proactive steps in fire prevention. From workshops and demonstrations, we will communicate our fire prevention programs.”

To further promote fire safety awareness, BFP has lined up several activities throughout March. On March 12, selected elementary and secondary schools will participate in a Poster Making and Drawing Contest at Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC), highlighting this year’s theme: “Sa Pag-Iwas sa Sunog, Di Ka Nag-iisa.”

Additionally, an Outreach Program will be held at Naewanan ta Kibulawan IP School on March 14, followed by the much-anticipated Municipal Fire Olympics on March 19 and the Zonal Rescue Olympics on March 20, in partnership with the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO).

As part of its educational efforts, BFP is also inviting schools to visit its office for an Open House during Community Relations Week, from March 9 to 15, 2025. Nearby institutions are encouraged to schedule fire prevention lectures and fire drills to enhance awareness and preparedness among students and staff.
